Southern Shrimp and Grits submitted by Mom Johnson
This is an easy version for brunch or dinner........comfort food at its best!

In a large saucepan, bring the broth, milk, butter, salt and pepper to a boil. Slowly stir in the grits and reduce heat. Cover and cook for 12-14 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Stir in the cheese until melted. Set aside and keep warm.

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels with a slotted spoon; drain, reserving 1 T. drippings. Saute the shrimp, garlic and seasonings in drippings until the shrimp turn pink. Serve shrimp on top of grits and sprinkle with sliced onions.
