MainRecipesKids | Sweet and Salty Caramel Snack Mix

Sweet and Salty Caramel Snack Mix submitted by Mom Johnson
Not just another caramel corn mix - this is great to pack into decorative tins or boxes for gift-giving.

Heat oven to 200 degrees. Line a jelly-roll pan with aluminum foil. Place popcorn, Bugles, pretzels, and nuts in a very large bowl. Combine brown sugar, butter and syrup in a 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture is bubbly around the edges. (About 4-5 minutes.) Continue cooking for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda and vanilla. Pour syrup over popcorn mixture and toss gently till well-coated. Place into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely then gently stir in chocolate pieces. Store in a tightly covered container.
