Description
These were very tasty and were easy for making while we were camping. I used 1 pound ground turkey instead of beef and they were excellent!

Directions
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat; add the oil and swirl to coat the pan. Add onion and sauté 4 minutes or until almost tender.
Add the ground meat and cook until browned, stirring to crumble. Stir in the chili powder, salt and sugar and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add 1/4 cup water and tomato sauce' reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Place chickpeas in a bowl and mask slightly with a fork or potato masher. Stir into meat mixture. Spoon about 1/2 cup mixture onto toasted buns and top with pickle slices if desired.
