Description
Something different to do with pork chops! Yummy!
|
Directions
Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add chops and brown on both sides. Arrange in a baking dish in one layer. Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened. Spoon the onions around the pork chops and pour the orange juice over the top. Add salt and pepper. Cover with foil if you don't have a lid to fit the pan and bake until the chops are cooked through (45-50 minutes). Fill each pear half with a little brown sugar and place a lemon slice on each, securing with the cloves. Place a pear on each chop and bake, uncovered for 10 minutes. Transfer the chops and pears to a warmed serving dish and keep hot. Skim the fat from the cooking liquid and strain into a measuring cup. Make up to about 2/3 cup with water and pour into the saucepan. Dissolve cornstarch into a little water and add to the pan. Cook, stirring until thickened. Pour over chops before serving.
