Description
From Christmas with Southern Living, 2010...we love these cookies! (I usually double the recipe and add about 1 cup chocolate chips.)
|
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat shortening and butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add brown sugar, beating until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, beating until blended.
Combine the flour and next 3 ingredients; gradually add to the shortening mixture, beating just until blended. Stir in the candy. Shape the dough into 1-inch round balls; roll each ball in the turbinado sugar. Place balls 3 inches apart on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 3 dozen.
