MainRecipesBread | Bettys Best Biscuits

Bettys Best Biscuits submitted by Karen Johnson
This recipe has been perfected by my mom-in-law...thanks for sharing! Absolutely the only biscuits I eat.

Preheat oven to 450F.
Mix together all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center; add buttermilk all at once. Stir until dough clings together.
Knead gently on a flour-covered board about 10-12 strokes. Pat out to 1/2-3/4 inch thickness. Cut 12 biscuits with a 2 1/2 in biscuit cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts. (or I just spoon moist batter onto ungreased cookie sheets and bypass kneading and cutting all together)
Bake at 450F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
