Description
A cool summer treat! To make this recipe even easier, buy an already prepared angel food cake at your local grocery store.

Directions
Make angel food cake mix according to package instructions. Bake for 37-47 minutes or until top is golden brown and cracks feel very dry and are not sticky. Immediately turn cake upside-down onto a glass bottle until cake is completely cooled, about 2 hours.
Meanwhile, in a 2-quart saucepan, beat egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, orange juice and salt with a wire whisk until blended. Add butter; cook 2-3 minutes over medium heat stirring frequently, until boiling. Boil for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened and mixture coats the back of a spoon. Immediately pour orange mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a medium bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the orange cream. Refrigerate about one hour or until completely chilled.
In a medium bowl, beat the whipping cream on high speed until stiff peaks form. Fold whipped cream and grated orange peel into the orange cream.
On a serving plate, place the cake with the browned side down. Cut off the top 1/3rd of the cake, using a long, sharp, serrated knife; set aside. Scoop out a 1-inch wide and 1-inch deep tunnel around the cake. Set aside these scooped out pieces for another use (or a snack for the grandchildren!). Spoon about 1 1/3 cups of the orange cream into the tunnel. Replace the cake top to seal the filling. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining filling. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving and garnish with orange twists. Store covered in the refrigerator.
