Description
Made in a jelly roll pan! Great for picnics or larger group gatherings.
|
Directions
Mix together flour, 2 T. sugar and salt. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender. Mix the egg yolk with enough milk to equal 3/4-1 cup. Add to pastry; it will be "wetter" than the usual pie crust.
Divide dough into 2 parts and roll out 2 15x10 inch rectangles to fit the bottom and up the sides of a jelly roll pan. Fit one piece into pan and sprinkle with corn flakes. Peel and slice apples over the cornflakes. Mix 1 1/4 cups sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the apples. Add top crust and seal the edges. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Combine the powdered sugar and lemon juice; spread this glaze on top of hot pastry.
