Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Toss the apples, blackberries, sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, lemon zest and juice, flour, and 4 T. melted butter in a large bowl.
In another bowl, combine the crushed cones, brown sugar, the remaining 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, the almonds, salt and the remaining 4 T. melted butter.
Pour the apple-berry mixture into the prepared baking dish and scatter the cone mixture on top. Bake until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown, 40-45 minutes. Transfer dish to a cooling rack and let sit for 10 minutes before serving. top with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Serves 6-8.

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, melted plus more for the dish
4-5 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, cut into 3/4inch pieces
2 cups fresh blackberries
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon, divided
1/2 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg
Finely grated zest and juice of 1/2 lemon
2 T. flour
1 cup crushed sugar cones (about 6 cones)
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1/2 tsp. salt
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for topping
