Description
These are yummy soft cookies that everyone will love.
|
Directions
Cookie:
1. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until smooth.
2. Beat in eggs one at a time.
3. Stir in milk and vanilla.
4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into creamed mixture.
5. Cover dough and chill in fridge for at least 1 hour.
6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4" thick.
7. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
8. Place cookies 1 1/2" apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
9. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 6-8 minutes.
Frosting:
Mix powdered sugar with butter, stir in vanilla. Then stir in hot water. Frost cooled cookies.
Makes approx 36 cookies

Cookie:
3/4 cup butter-flavored shortening/or butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbls. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Frosting:
8oz powdered sugar
1/2 c butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 cup hot water
