MainRecipesBeef | Family Style Chili

Family Style Chili submitted by Mom Johnson
Al Roker, Today Show host, makes this on Saturday's for his family,

Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Brown steak and sausage for about 8 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. Reserve 2 T. fat from the meat and discard the rest.

Saute the onions and garlic in the reserved fat until soft, about 8 minutes.

Add the cumin, paprika and chili powder and cook for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes, water, sausage and beef; stir and simmer for 90 minutes.

Add the beans (rinse and drain all beans) and simmer another 30 minutes. Pour into bowls and add garnishes as desired and serve! Makes 12 cups.
