2002 Christmas Cookiefest
For some families the holidays bring good cheer and presents. At the Johnson household, it means cookies, and lots of them. This Christmas, Karen made three of the family favorites, Peanut Butter Balls, Ethels' Favorite, and 7 Layer Bars.
Peanut Butter Balls, made with peanut butter (naturally), butter, nuts, rice krispies, and powdered sugar (but no balls), were my favorite cookies growing up as a kid. I still remember the tupperware that they were stored in (maroon base, cloudy plastic top) in my household. I'll warn you though, if you have one, one need to have another. And if you're a programmer, you'll notice that this leads to infinite recursion, a bad omen in any environment.
Ethel's Favorite Cookies are possibly even more dangerous. These flaky cookies produce alot of crumbs so you shouldn't eat them in bed because we all know what happens when you eat cookies in bed. Special note: You will need to lick your fingers after eating these cookies, which I guess is a pretty unique characteristec of the Ethel's Favorite family of cookie. I mean really, there aren't many cookies that you can say that about.
Finally, 7 Layer Bars. You've probably all heard about the Neiman Marcus cookies right? Well, 7 Layer Bar cookies make those cookies look like something from 7-Eleven. 7 Layer Bar cookies defy superlatives (did I just use the word 'superlative' in a sentence?! wow!).

These cookie/bars will rock your world. You will never want another type of cookie.

Peanut Butter Balls
My personal favorite cookie (if you can call it that) of all time. Only make them once a year, or else your waist will grow faster than ... well, it'll grow fast.
