May be made in a bread machine according to the manufacturer's instructions! This bread is great toasted too!

Directions
Combine water, sugar, and butter in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and let stand until mixture reaches a temperature between 120-130 degrees.
Meanwhile, combine 2 1/2 cups flour, walnuts, oats, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl; add the water mixture and stir until well-combined. Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface and knead in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead until smooth and elastic ( about 10 minutes). Put into a well-greased bowl, turning once to grease the top.
Cover dough with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes or until double in bulk.
Punch the dough down. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly 4-5 times. Roll dough into a 14x17 inch rectangle. Roll the dough up, starting at the narrow end, pressing firmly to eliminate air pockets; pinch ends to seal. Place dough seam-side down in a well-greased 8x4 inch loaf pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place 1 hour or until doubled in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pan immediately and cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
